Volume Two of the NCC outlines the technical design and construction standards for specific types of buildings and structures. These include Class 1 and 10a buildings (with the exception of access requirements for people with disabilities in Class 1b and 10a buildings), certain Class 10b structures (excluding access requirements for people with disabilities in Class 10b swimming pools), and Class 10c private bushfire shelters.

The focus of NCC Volume Two is on the design and construction of smaller-scale buildings such as houses, small sheds, carports, and related structures. It primarily pertains to residential buildings and associated features such as sheds, carports, pools and fencing.

Each volume contains—

•  Performance Requirements; and
    compliance options to meet the NCC requirements; and
